Emergency Service

Our emergency and trauma team consists of specialists from Anaesthesiology, Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, and Traumatology. Our team is fully geared to perform emergency operations, including round the clock cardiac surgery.

Objectives of Accident and Emergency Department

  • To provide unrestricted access to appropriate emergency medical care.
  • To forge a smooth continuum among pre-hospital providers, emergency medical care providers, and providers of definitive follow-up care.
  • To provide appropriate and expedient evaluation, management, and treatment of patients.
  • To ensure availability of resources in the Emergency Department.
  • To accommodate each patient from the time of arrival through evaluation, decision making, treatment, and disposition.

Accident and Emergency Department is staffed by qualified personnel, with knowledge and skills sufficient to evaluate and stabilize, if reasonably possible, those who seek emergency medical care, especially those with potentially lethal or disabling conditions.

Emergency care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by an emergency physician, and emergency nursing staff in the Emergency Department.

Burns And Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is one of the oldest, and one of the newest surgical specialties. Plastic means "to form." It does not refer to "plastic" materials, although they may be used. Plastic surgery is concerned with the repair and reconstruction of lost, injured, and deformed body parts as a result of burns, cancer, trauma, and birth defects. Plastic surgery generally does not deal with viscera, but with the non visceral structures, viz. scalp, skull, external ear, face and facial bones, chest wall, abdominal wall, external genitalia, and extremities.

There is a common opinion about plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. In fact, there are two general categories of plastic surgery, re-constructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. The former refers to rebuilding structures that were normal, but damaged by injury or disease. Examples include skin grafting for burns and repair of hand injuries. The latter refers to the attempts to improve the appearance of relatively normal structures, to beautify!

Plastic surgery covers a very wide field, and can be considered under the following clinical areas:
  • Congenital
  • Trauma & Burns
  • Neoplasms
  • Others areas

Choosing to have plastic surgery is a crucial decision, and so is selecting a plastic surgeon. Whether you're considering cosmetic surgery to improve your appearance or re-constructive surgery to correct defects, you want a board-certified surgeon, with the skill and training to help achieve your goals. Our surgeons at Kalra Hospital are competently trained and talented enough, to provide you with the 'Midas' touch you are looking for!
